UBC’s Smart Construction and Infrastructure Research Cluster (SICRC) hosted a workshop on smart construction solutions on October 18th aimed at fostering innovation, collaboration, and in-depth research. This workshop attended by 27 professionals including UBC research community, industry and government organizations.
This workshop provided a platform for detailed discussions, collaborative problem-solving, and the formulation of strategic projects that will benefit both academia and industry. Below were discussed during the program:
- Modular and automated construction
- Mass timber and low-carbon materials
- Use of software and digitization (Digital Twin, BIM, LCA)
Workshop agenda included breakfast/launch and networking, Panel discussion and group discussion. At the end of the workshop audience visited Smart Structure Lab and Centre for Advanced Wood Processing.
